Η συμμετοχή του Αρσακείου Λυκείου
Με ιδιαίτερο ενθουσιασμό και ενεργητικότητα, το Αρσάκειο Λύκειο Θεσσαλονίκης έλαβε μέρος στο 7th DSTMUN (7th Deutsche Schule Thessaloniki Model United Nations), με τίτλο “Promoting Peace: Working towards the De-escalation of International Conflicts“, το οποίο πραγματοποιήθηκε στη Γερμανική Σχολή Θεσσαλονίκης από τις 22 έως τις 24 Νοεμβρίου 2024.
Στο συνέδριο συμμετείχαν μαθητές και μαθήτριες Γυμνασίων και Λυκείων από όλη την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό, σε ρόλο διπλωματών, ακολουθώντας τους επίσημους κανόνες προσομοίωσης των Ηνωμένων Εθνών. Οι μαθητές/τριές μας εκπροσώπησαν τις χώρες Ταϊλάνδη, Βιετνάμ, Μιανμάρ και Αφγανιστάν, ενώ ένας μαθητής μας, ο Αλέξανδρος Ποτολιός, συμμετείχε ως δικαστής στο International Court of Justice και ξεχώρισε, κερδίζοντας το βραβείο του Best Judge για τις εξαιρετικές του επιδόσεις.
Το Συνέδριο λειτούργησε ως προσομοίωση των εργασιών του Οργανισμού των Ηνωμένων Εθνών, προσφέροντας στους μαθητές και τις μαθήτριες τη δυνατότητα να συμμετάσχουν σε ζωντανές συζητήσεις και διαπραγματεύσεις για επίκαιρα και σημαντικά διεθνή ζητήματα. Στο συνέδριο συζητήθηκαν θέματα όπως η εξάπλωση και χρήση διασπορικών πυρομαχικών στην Επιτροπή Αφοπλισμού και Διεθνούς Ασφάλειας (GA1), η καταπολέμηση της υπερπληθωρισμού στη Λατινική Αμερική στην Οικονομική και Χρηματοοικονομική Επιτροπή (GA2), η προστασία των ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων και των δημοκρατικών δομών στη Νοτιοανατολική Ασία στην Επιτροπή Κοινωνικών, Ανθρωπιστικών και Πολιτιστικών Υποθέσεων (GA3), καθώς και η αναγνώριση της κουρδικής κρατικής υπόστασης και οι πολιτικές συνέπειες της παραγωγής κοκαΐνης στη Λατινική Αμερική στην Ειδική Επιτροπή Πολιτικών Υποθέσεων και Αποαποικιοποίησης (GA4). Επιπλέον, στο Συμβούλιο Ανθρωπίνων Δικαιωμάτων (HRC), οι συμμετέχοντες ασχολήθηκαν με την ανθρωπιστική βοήθεια στη Μιανμάρ, τα δικαιώματα των γυναικών στο Αφγανιστάν και τις διακρίσεις κατά των αυτόχθονων πληθυσμών στη Βόρεια Αμερική. Στο Διεθνές Δικαστήριο (ICJ), εξετάστηκε η υπόθεση του Ναού του Πρέα Βιχία (Καμπότζη κατά Ταϊλάνδης), εστιάζοντας σε ζητήματα εδαφικής κυριαρχίας και διεθνών νομικών αρχών.
Οι μαθητές και οι μαθήτριές μας είχαν την ευκαιρία να βελτιώσουν τις ρητορικές και διαπραγματευτικές τους δεξιότητες, να καλλιεργήσουν την ικανότητά τους στην αγγλική γλώσσα και να προαγάγουν την αξία του διαλόγου ως μέσου επίλυσης διαφορών. Η διάκριση του μαθητή Αλέξανδρου Ποτολιού στο ρόλο του δικαστή στο Διεθνές Δικαστήριο αναδεικνύει την ποιότητα της συμμετοχής των μαθητών/τριών μας και την αφοσίωσή τους στην επιτυχία.
Συγχαίρουμε θερμά τους μαθητές και τις μαθήτριές μας για την αφοσίωση, τη συνεργασία και την εξαιρετική τους παρουσία. Η συμμετοχή τους αποτελεί έμπνευση και δείχνει τη δέσμευσή τους σε αξίες όπως η δημοκρατία, η συνεργασία και η ειρήνη. Ευχόμαστε να συνεχίσουν να διακρίνονται σε ανάλογες δράσεις στο μέλλον.
Συμμετείχαν οι εξής μαθητές/τριες: [A΄ τάξη] Αργυρίου Αγγελική, Γκέκα-Γρίβα Αλεξάνδρα, Καραλή Παρασκευή, Ποτολιός Αλέξανδρος, Σεραφίνι Αναστασία-Ολυμπία, Σκαραγκά Σοφία, Σκαραγκάς Γεώργιος, Σονάυ Βέρα, Τσάνη Παρασκευή, Χρυσομάλλη Νίκη και [B΄ τάξη] Κακαρέτσα Δανάη Χριστίνα. Τους μαθητές και τις μαθήτριες καθοδήγησε και συντόνισε η καθηγήτρια Αγγλικών, Λία Σταυρίδου.
Congratulations, Honourable Delegates of Afghanistan, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, and Esteemed Judge of the International Court of Justice! You did an outstanding job!
The day after MUN…
“This year, I had the utmost honor of participating in DSTMUN 2024 as a judge in the specialized agency, the ICJ (International Court of Justice), widely regarded as the most challenging and demanding committee in the conference, a distinction enhanced by its unique and distinguished roles. Personally, I genuinely enjoyed the entire experience, as I got to execute a role that did not require prior preparation before the conference but demanded substantial involvement during its duration. I admired seeing students embracing the roles of delegates, advocates, judges, officers, and members of the secretariat, as well as proposing effective solutions to issues that engage the international community. Lastly, I cannot overlook or fail to highlight the astonishing organization of the conference, which was fully managed by students, whose shoes I hope to step into next year.”
