Από 22 έως 24 Νοεμβρίου 2024 πραγματοποιήθηκε το 7ο Μοντέλο Ηνωμένων Εθνών της Γερμανικής Σχολής Θεσσαλονίκης (7th DSTMUN), στο οποίο συμμετείχαν δώδεκα μαθητές και μαθήτριες της Γ’ Τάξης του Αρσακείου Γυμνασίου Θεσσαλονίκης. Το κεντρικό θέμα του συνεδρίου ήταν η προώθηση της ειρήνης και η αποκλιμάκωση των διεθνών συγκρούσεων.“Promoting Peace: Working towards the De-escalation of International Conflicts”.
Κάθε μαθητικό συνέδριο ΜUN διεξάγεται αποκλειστικά στα αγγλικά και αποτελεί μια άσκηση προσομοίωσης των εργασιών του Οργανισμού Ηνωμένων Εθνών μέσα από τη βιωματική εκπαίδευση στα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα και στον ενεργό ρόλο των πολιτών. Οι μαθητές σε ρόλο διπλωμάτη ερευνούν, ενημερώνονται και ευαισθητοποιούνται σχετικά με διεθνή προβλήματα επικαιρότητας, ασκούν τη ρητορική ικανότητά τους μέσα από την τεκμηρίωση απόψεων και την άσκηση δημοκρατικού δημόσιου λόγου, και αναπτύσσουν δεξιότητες όπως την ανεκτικότητα, τη διπλωματική συμπεριφορά και στάση, την κριτική σκέψη και τον αλληλοσεβασμό.
Κατά τη διάρκεια του συνεδρίου, οι μαθητές μας, ως άξιοι εκπρόσωποι της Φιλανδίας, του Μεξικού, της Ιαπωνίας και της Μιανμάρ, διερεύνησαν την πολιτική της χώρας τους σε θέματα ημερήσιας διάταξης, δημιούργησαν συμμαχίες, για να προτείνουν συναινετικές λύσεις με τη μορφή ψηφισμάτων (resolutions) και συζήτησαν φλέγοντα ζητήματα που απασχολούν την παγκόσμια κοινότητα.

Τους μαθητές καθοδήγησε και συντόνισε η καθηγήτρια Αγγλικών Τότα Οικονόμου.

MUN echoes ….
The 7th DSTMUN was the first ever mun I ever participated in. I was really scared at first, but as soon as I arrived in my committee, the other delegates and the chairs made sure everyonefelt welcomed and comfortable. Although the conference lasted only three days, the friendships I made with the delegates and the chairs will remain unforgettable. We all promised to see each other at other conferences or next year’s events. In conclusion, my first ever MUN was a huge success, and I hope I will get the chance to participate in more conferences in the future. All of this was thanks to miss Tota who tried her best to prepare us properly and make sure we had a fantastic time!❤️

It was a very memorable experience, and to be honest,it was quitevery stressful for me. However, I intend to participate again, since I’ll be better prepared, and feel more confident and certain. Most of the delegates I met were very kind, and I hope hope to meet people like them again next year.🇫🇮

It was honestly one of the most interesting and fun experiences of my life. I came in touch with new personalities and made new friends through MUN. Participating in the 7th DSTMUN was a fascinating experience. To be honest, during the first day,the debates were really stressful, and I struggled to get the hang of things. Everything was moving really fast, and I didn’t really have much time to react. However,starting on the second day, I really started to connect with my fellow delegates, formedsome strong friendships, andbecame much more involved in the debates, writing speeches and posing questions. I would really like to sincerelythank the chairs of the GA4 (Special Political and Decolonization Committee) for making our participation even more entertaining and for all the special moments that we, the delegates experienced and shared together.🇲🇽
