New Young Diplomats in Actions!

Congratulations, Honourable Delegates of Canada and South Africa and Esteemed Chair of the Security Council! You did a great job!

The Day After MUN ….

I have participated in many MUNs but each of them was a great experience. In this year’s DSTMUN, I had the best time debating on topics that affect us nowadays because of climate change. People there were amazing and our Chairs kind, helpful and tried their best to make us feel comfortable. It was definitely worth the time I spent and I would do it again many more times. Lastly, it is an excellent way to get familiar with UN issues and gain debating skills that will be needed if someone wishes to follow a diplomatic career or something similar in the future.

The truth is that I was pressured to go to MUN. And the same pressure I faced in order to go, I also faced during the goodbye time, because if it were up to me, I would certainly have lived in this community for more than a three-day period. Preparation, alliances, lots of negotiations, difficult words, modern problems, admirable solutions, a better world made by us for us, and of course a delicious chicken souvlaki! Those would be the words I would use to describe the DSTMUN experience, which although it had its ups and downs, left us with the best impressions and some friendships that may last for more than a conference.

I feel honestly so grateful that in this school I am given so many opportunities, one of them being MUNs. I am so excited about everything. Now specifically about dst, I was really nervous during working on my resolutions, policies etc I really wanted to be super ready for anything so that I would not face any difficulties. However, when I finished my preparation, I was just looking forward to the conference! During these three days, I must assure you that I enjoyed every moment of the conference. On the second and third day, I was exhausted, but it was still so much fun!! I must admit that I had difficulty in paying attention to the speakers during their speeches and as a result, I couldn’t participate in the “pois” (points of information), I also didn’t know what I could ask. On the last day, I got more familiar with this and wrote down some possible pois, but still I wasn’t confident enough to ask them. I actually felt comfortable and confident in my committee about public speaking, but I was not very familiar with the whole procedure. I think that I did quite well for my first time, and I really hope that in my next MUN, I will be more sociable and I will not stop speaking!! I believe that now since I have already formed an impression, “I got the kolai” and I’m ready for the Anatolia! MUN! I will be super ready!

Thank you for everything

The DST MUN was an unforgettable experience!! I was in the GA2 Committee (Economic and Financial) and the Chairs were super kind and very supportive! Despite this being my first MUN experience, I had so much fun and met so many new people from different countries, and everyone there made me feel safe! On the other hand, if we take a look at Saturday’s lunch, it was not the best, most people, including myself, had problems with food poisoning! I really don’t want to go on with what happened next… but other than that, everything was fine and I’m definitely going again next year!

I totally loved the whole experience of MUN, it was pure magic! I met new people, I had the opportunity to exercise my English and public speaking even though I was extremely stressed, but the second time I made it and I read my speech. Overall, I like to keep the good things from everything, so if I don’t take part in ACMUN, I will SURELY JOIN THE NEXT DSTMUN THAT NOW HAS A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART!!❤️
